"Fossil ware" Bio-evolution dinner plate (Velociperch)
Clear glaze seals over the crackle slip, resulting in a fully functional dinner plate. Abraded grey and red slip at the rim, black at the underside. Networks of “cracked mud” fissures reveal the Velociperch imagery that becomes more recognizable viewed at a distance. Approx. 11 in. accross.
All of my work that features crackle slip is priced a bit higher than other pieces… it requires extra steps, and an extra firing. There is also substantial time involved with creating the imagery. Plates are wheel thrown and trimmed
Food, dishwasher and *microwave safe … Although rare, heating in microwave for long periods may result in uneven temps and result in cracking. 20-30 seconds to reheat your sticky bun is totally fine, though I wouldn't recommend using this plate to "cook" food in a microwave.
